    Annoying Messenger Service PopUps on Windows 2000 & XP

• On an XP or 2000 system go to:
  Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
  Sroll down to Messenger and select it.
  Right click and choose 'Properties,'
  then next to 'Startup type' choose 'Disabled'. Click apply and you are done.

    Note: This service is a network tool and should not affect anything unless you are on a corporate network.
